My Approach

  • Integration: My own dogs assist newcomers in settling in. They play together in the yard and field next to my home and share my home with my dogs.
  • Commitment: No matter the reason for parting with your Basset, I will never refuse a Basset. I promise to keep you informed about their progress both in the pack and when they find their new forever families.

Trust and Experience

I understand how difficult it can be to part with loved ones. I will make the process as smooth as possible for you. You can trust me to do my utmost for your Basset. Dogs of all breeds are my passion, especially Basset Hounds, which I have had in my life for around 40 years.

Location and Collection

I am based near Ludlow, Shropshire. If needed, I use a DEFRA-licensed driver to collect any dogs.

Care and Assessment

All rescues are thoroughly assessed and cared for by myself. They are not kept in kennels but live in a pack, which aids their rehabilitation and adjustment, helping them become more balanced dogs for their new homes. It works—take a look at the pictures!

Contact Information

Please send a friend request on my Facebook page before sending a private message: Lyn Bailey Facebook

I am available 24/7, caring for the Bassets and providing training when needed. My own dogs also assist in helping new arrivals adjust to leaving their previous homes and becoming welcomed members of the pack.

Treatments and Costs

  • Any necessary treatments, such as neutering, spaying, vaccinations, worming, and vet treatments, plus collection, are provided.
  • Some dogs may require expensive treatments or long-term medications. Adoption donations help cover these costs.
  • I match the Basset’s needs to potential new homes, and it works.

Adoption Process

As you can see in the pictures, the Bassets run around the yard or field and are not kept in kennels. They live well as a pack and new dogs settle in quickly, sometimes in just minutes. They stay with me until a suitable home is found, which may take weeks or months if needed.

If a placement does not work out (very rare), the dog must be returned to me. Donation adoption fees apply, typically around £250, depending on the circumstances.

Potential New Owners

Please describe the home you offer, including hours worked, children and their ages, other dogs and their ages and breeds. Send this information by email, and I will contact you when I have a Basset seeking a home. My email address is lynbailey32@yahoo.com.

Dogs are my life and my first love. All animals are important to me, but dogs hold a special place in my heart.
